Tauna Coulson

I began making art in earnest after the death of two significant people in my life within a two-month period. This isn’t a bad thing, sad of course but one can choose to make lemonade. Focusing on my art gives me color and purposeā€“it organizes the thoughts in my head. My work’s been really diverse over the years, always a reflection of my life and what I need.

I previously had twenty-plus years as a graphic designer and this greatly influenced the sense of color, texture, and overall balance, or hierarchy in the work. It provided a starting point that was both limiting and liberating. On the one hand, it gives me a sense of what to put where but I’m still waiting to see what happens if I can dispel all of that.

Thank you rrjones for always making me look my best.
